Neil Leyton, Canadian rock n roll singer/songwriter, debuts songs from
his upcoming third album The Betrayal of the Self (due out in
September) in an intimate live setting celebrating the release of the
Dead Fashion Brigade EP. Produced by Ginger (of Wildhearts infamy) and
featuring Ginger and Stidi from the Wildhearts as well as Rich Jones
and Natasha Moledina, the EP was recorded in London after Jones
introduced Ginger to Leyton's music: "I'd love to hear his voice
behind a really loud band", replied Ginger. So, he re-worked four of
Leyton's earlier tracks, and the two day studio session at Southern
Studios yielded the EP.

Bonus tracks are two Stagger Twins (Leyton & Jones) compositions, one
acoustic unreleased new song titled "right here don't feel so right
right now" and a cut from the upcoming Betrayal of the Self album,
"When a Ghost flies Young". The Betrayal of the Self was recorded in
Stockholm, Sweden, with Leyton's Swedish backing band the Ghosts ? who
will be flown in for the special Camden show at the Purple Turtle.
Jones co-wrote three of the thirteen new album tracks, and will also
be joining Leyton & the Ghosts on stage. Other album guests included
Nicke Andersson (Hellacopters), Dregen (Backyard Babies), and members
of the Diamond Dogs.

Leyton can best be described as a singer/songwriter who isn't afraid
to "play fuckin' loud"; with influences ranging from Bowie to Buckley,
Cash to Cave, and a deep passion for the MC5, here is an
up-and-coming artist who isn't afraid to ignore all trends in pursuit
of his own artistic vision(s)... a social conscience with songwriting
talent and an awe-inspiring voice too.
